Third-Party Asset Usage Policy
Effective Date: 1 April, 2025
This document outlines how third-party design assets such as images, vectors, and templates may be used within the scope of a design project delivered by an independent freelance graphic designer.
1. Use of Licensed Design Resources
To improve quality, streamline creative workflows, and meet project timelines, the designer may incorporate third-party graphic resources (such as stock images, illustrations, icons, or vector elements) into your project. These assets are sourced from professional design libraries that provide appropriate commercial usage licenses.
Note: All assets used are sourced from legally compliant platforms that offer licenses for commercial design work. The designer ensures that usage aligns with the license terms of the respective platform at the time of download.
2. Scope of Usage
These third-party assets are intended strictly for use within the final delivered design. They:
- May be used in social media creatives, marketing collateral, websites, packaging, or presentations
- May be adapted or modified to suit your brand’s visual identity
- Are not meant to be reused, resold, or redistributed as raw files
3. Ownership and Transfer
While the final approved design becomes the Client’s property upon completion and payment, individual stock components remain the intellectual property of their original creators or platforms.
Clients must not extract or reuse individual elements unless:
- They hold a separate commercial license for those elements
- The reuse remains within the scope of the original project purpose
4. Commercial Use and Responsibility
Designs delivered through this agreement are intended for commercial use. However, clients are advised to:
- Avoid independently editing or extracting elements from the final design
- Avoid using stock-based designs for resale (e.g., on merchandise or templates)
- Consult the designer if planning large-scale use such as mass printing, paid distribution, or long-term commercial rollout
The designer is not liable for any third-party copyright issues if assets are used beyond their original design context.
5. Requesting Exclusivity or Custom Assets
If you require fully original artwork or exclusive visuals:
- The designer can create custom illustrations or design assets upon request
- Additional cost and time will apply
- Exclusivity must be clearly requested in writing prior to project start
6. Transparency and Client Responsibility
By accepting and using the delivered design files, the client agrees to respect and adhere to the ethical use of third-party design resources. Unless otherwise discussed, raw or layered source files and stock licenses are not transferred.
7. Questions or Extended Licensing
If you have any questions about image or vector usage in your project, or require an extended license for any component, please consult with us before redistribution.
